coaching is for everyone. I can help you to tap into your confidence, live your politics and values, make a change, or find yourself again. I love working with people to help them realise their full potential, form new ideas, find a new direction or confirm the current one.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is the radical act of being really listened to.
OK BUT WHAT ACTUALLY IS IT?
I often think in metaphors, in stories. As a coach I am the guide, the story is yours to write: you’re the hero. You choose the path, and I’ll walk alongside you on it. It is a way of helping you find answers to questions you have, helping you work out what you want and need, what your goals are, and how to work towards achieving them. Coaching provides a space for you to focus on yourself, to think through your own strengths, needs and desires and make sense of them. It can be transformative and many of my clients have told me it has moved their practice, and parts of their lives, forward in unexpected and welcome ways.
WHAT COULD I GET FROM COACHING? WHY DO I NEED IT?
Coaching allows you to wrangle with deep questions about how and why you do what you do. Ones which may have recently surfaced, or been bubbling away for years.
It could:
Help you solve issues at work; clarify career coals or decide what’s next; gain - or re-discover - more confidence in your own abilities, values and instinct; help you re-discover purpose; understand how to have a fulfilling career and fulfilling life; be a place of meandering exploration. It is your space to talk through what you need.
WHY WOULD I CHOOSE YOU AS MY COACH?
Choose me if you want something relaxed, warm and informal whilst simultaneously being boundaried and professional. If you want someone who is interested in making sure that you can fulfil both your professional and personal goals, if you want a coach who places emphasis on joy, and living your life to the fullest, on creating work/life boundaries and on living a better, more balanced life. Who laughs. Choose me, too, if you want to explore your life and work in opposition to neo-liberalism and capitalist structures which require over-work. I am not interested in the kind of ‘self-help’ which seeks to push you into a system that is not working. Choose me, too, if you want a coach who has worked in the arts and has a deep understanding of the pressures and vagaries of the industry.
I will always have a chat with you before we embark on any work, and if after that you think I’m not the right fit, that’s ok, I can help you find someone else, I know a huge number of wonderful coaches.
WHY DID YOU TRAIN AS A COACH?
I have always felt that my practice incorporated a lot of informal coaching and support, and I wanted to consolidate and examine that. Coaching is simply a way of listening deeply, of gently asking you to answer questions which will lead you towards your answers: that made sense to me as a strand of my practice which at its heart strives to help as many people as possible live enriched, fulfilled lives. It is transformative, and it is a radical space of listening. It allows people to really see themselves, and it is a privilege to be a part of that process.
WHAT ARE YOUR CREDENTIALS?
Most importantly, the words of my clients. See Testimonials.

Putting yourself first and prioritising your wellbeing and contentment is what enables you to thrive, and bring more of yourself to your personal relationships, your work, and the time you spend with yourself.
I can help you negotiate big personal or career moves, make changes you have always wanted to make, prioritise and find a sense of calm. If you want to live your values, make a difference to the world but look after yourself while doing it, I’m your person.
People come to coaching for so many different reasons. Perhaps you feel a little direction-less, a little brow beaten by your industry, bruised from a job which didn’t go the way you wanted, or you simply want to find your confidence, your focus, or make a change. Coaching is a fantastic way of learning to trust and listen to yourself. The experience of being really listened to, and heard, can be radical.

Whether it is helping senior leadership teams to be better, kinder, more decisive leaders, or enabling team members to locate their confidence, I can work with members of your organisation so that they can get the best out of their role, and in turn do their best work.
Centring care and a future focussed, positive action approach is a fantastic way of providing encouragement and focus and can make a huge difference to the happiness and motivation of your team. No one should lose themselves whilst trying to do their best work. I can ensure that doesn’t happen.

What I Offer:
In basic terms, the benefit of my nearly twenty year’s experience working in the arts - in particular in community and participatory theatre - in senior leadership roles within buildings, and as a freelancer outside them.
I have a wide breath of experience that ranges from NPOs and large organisations, to fringe venues and smaller companies. I’ve worked in the room, on the ground, and in strategic and managerial roles.
In less basic terms, I offer collaboration, ideas, laughter: a conversation that could be joyful, or serious, could problem solve or dream big. Every mentoring relationship is different. I have worked with people as part of their DYCP or Project Grants, and have been employed by organisations such as China Plate and Camden People’s Theatre to work with employees who might be new to a role, have stepped up into a more senior position, or just need a bit of an outside eye on their work and relationships.
Get in touch if you would like to discuss 1 to 1, or group mentoring, for yourself or an employee in your organisation. I also provide Access Support for DYCP bids.
-
If you are submitting a Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) or Arts Council Project Application (G4A), you can put coaching in as something you would like to fund to aid you in your artistic practice. I have worked with several artists and creative practitioners alongside their creative projects, helping them to ensure that the project is fulfilling for them artistically and personally.
Get in touch if you would like to write me into your bid. I also provide Access Support for DYCP bids.

‘Being coached by Lily was one of the most revolutionary things I could have done for myself and my career. I have done a LOT of CPD over the years but nothing felt like a special personalised invite as a community artist to consider myself and my practice. Twelve years in the arts and nothing has ever made me feel as seen, heard and motivated as 3 coaching sessions with Lily.’
INSPIRE Cohort Member
‘The coaching sessions have given me time and space to articulate some of the blockages I have been feeling about my practice… With Lily's expert coaching in the way she posed questions or reflected back to me what I had said, it enabled me to be brave and look at what has been happening for myself and to be brave in taking steps forward. I am now taking steps to evaluate not just my practice but also how that connects with my personal and family life and have honest conversations about that. I am also feeling empowered to begin making some shifts to enable myself to develop as an artist and practitioner.’

‘Lily is patient, considered. highly skilled at drawing the answers out of me and had considered everything - I felt so relaxed going into the process as the access and communications were so clear. After each coaching session I felt energised, focused and happy.’
INSPIRE Cohort Member
‘Lily is such an attentive listener, so I really felt heard.’

‘I really like that Lily met me where I was at in each session. When I needed to process my feelings around something I was able to do that and then when I needed to have more of an action planning type conversation I was able to do that.’

‘In three hours I feel like my brain moved forwards the same amount as it would take me around three years to do on my own.’

'I was nervous that we’d run dry. This never happened, and actually the way the session was facilitated would have negated that anyway. I came away with a very clear action plan and lists of actions to complete. I’d recommend Lily to anyone looking for coaching - but also if I suspected someone could benefit by working through some knots I would suggest they look into coaching. My 'lightbulbs' were realising that I was in charge of what we did… That there were so many alternative approaches… That I’m doing OK.'
Matthew Xia (Artistic Director, Actors Touring Company)
‘Lily is a fantastic coach. She has such an excellent gentle guiding style that has helped me gain clarity and confidence in myself, my work and specifically my decision making.
She listens, asks perfect questions and gives me the space and support I need to talk through, organise, and prioritise my thoughts and plans without feeling overwhelmed.
Lily is like the best packet of biscuits. You really want them to yourself, but you know they’re too good not to share.’
Lauren Silver (Actor, Theatre-Maker, Founder: PlayWell)
'Lily Einhorn brings an intelligent, insightful, curious and courageous approach to the coaching experience! She's my 'go to' coach whenever I need clarity, direction and a compassionate good ear.'
Stacy Makishi (Performance Artist/Lecturer)
“It threw up some massive questions right from the start which I didn't expect… I'd recommend Lily to anyone seeking clarity, looking for an additional support/boost or looking to make some changes or interrogate the day to day.”
Lora Krasteva, (Artist, Cultural Producer and Activist)
‘You’re holding space for me in a really lovely way and I’m feeling these sessions move things in and around me so thanks. ‘
Yaël Shavit (Director, Dramaturg, Lecturer)
